The Brief

When Nelé Nail Salon embarked on its next chapter, the objective was about more than simply refreshing its branding.

The salon needed a distinctive visual identity and physical environment that reflected the quality of its services while creating a sophisticated, welcoming experience for its clients.

Our services were brought in to develop the creative direction across the brand — from the first visual concept through to the finished salon environment.

Our role extended well beyond traditional graphic design. We worked across branding, print, interiors, décor, signage, exterior applications and photography, creating a cohesive experience where every detail worked together.

The Creative Direction

The creative direction centred around creating a refined, contemporary beauty environment with a soft, sophisticated aesthetic.

A considered palette of nude tones, gold and light olive became the foundation for the visual language, allowing the brand to feel feminine and luxurious without becoming overly decorative.

The identity was designed to translate seamlessly across both digital and physical applications — ensuring that the Nelé brand would feel recognisable whether encountered on signage, printed collateral, the salon walls or through photography.

Wallpaper & Interior Design

One of the most exciting aspects of the project was taking the brand beyond the page and into the physical space.

WOW designed custom wallpaper concepts and graphic treatments specifically for the salon environment, using the brand’s aesthetic to create visual moments throughout the space.

We also assisted with the broader interior design direction and décor selection, helping to bring the creative concept together through:

The Nelé Coffee Shop Experience

An important part of the new Nelé experience is the coffee shop within the salon, adding another layer to the concept and transforming a traditional beauty appointment into a more complete lifestyle experience.

WOW helped shape the visual and creative direction of the coffee shop so that it felt naturally integrated into the wider Nelé environment.

The intention was to create a space where clients could enjoy a coffee, tea or cold drink while visiting the salon — whether before an appointment, during their visit or simply as part of the experience.

Rather than treating the coffee shop as an unrelated addition, we considered it an extension of the Nelé brand.

The same attention to colour, styling, visual identity and atmosphere carried through from the salon into the coffee area, creating a cohesive environment where beauty, hospitality and lifestyle come together.

This creates an experience that is about more than nails — it gives clients another reason to linger, relax and enjoy their time at Nelé.

Exterior Design & Signage

The exterior was designed to establish a strong visual presence and ensure that Nelé was immediately identifiable within its new location at Parkview Shopping Centre.

WOW developed and coordinated the creative direction for the exterior branding and signage, ensuring that the salon’s first impression was consistent with the experience waiting inside.

From signage design through to placement and visual coordination, every element was considered as part of the overall brand experience.

Print Design & Production

The project also extended into the physical printed materials required to support the business.

WOW handled the creative design and print coordination for various branded applications, ensuring that the finished materials maintained the same level of attention to detail as the interior and digital brand presence.

Our approach means that clients don’t simply receive artwork files — where required, we can take the project through design, artwork preparation, print sourcing and production coordination.

AI-Assisted Creative

AI was also incorporated into selected creative elements of the project, allowing us to develop bespoke visual concepts and imagery that would have been difficult or costly to produce traditionally.

Rather than using AI as a replacement for creative direction, we used it as another tool within the design process — combining creative direction, graphic design, image generation, editing and art direction to develop unique visual assets for the brand.

Photography

To complete the project, WOW also provided professional photography for Nelé Nail Salon in collaboration with our Creative Director and Professional Photographer Darrell Fraser.

The photography was created to showcase the completed environment, branding, details, coffee shop experience and overall salon atmosphere, giving the business a library of high-quality visual content for its website, social media, marketing and portfolio.

Photography was approached as an extension of the brand rather than simply documenting the space.

The result was imagery designed to communicate the same sophistication and attention to detail established throughout the creative direction.
